Overview

Shoprite Group is inviting emerging Human Resources professionals to apply for its HR Youth Graduate Programme in Randburg, Gauteng.

This fixed-term internship provides graduates with practical workplace exposure across important Human Resources functions, including employee administration, onboarding, talent management, employee relations, workforce planning, training and development, employee engagement and HR reporting.

Successful candidates will work alongside experienced HR professionals while developing practical skills needed to build a career in Human Resources within a large retail organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Successful graduates will assist with:

– Facilitating employee onboarding and induction programmes.

– Supporting the smooth integration of new employees into the organisation.

– Maintaining and updating employee records accurately.

– Capturing and maintaining information on HR information systems.

– Providing administrative support across different HR functions.

– Preparing and managing HR documentation.

– Supporting HR compliance and administrative processes.

– Communicating HR policies, procedures and employee guidelines.

– Coordinating employee engagement activities and initiatives.

– Supporting employee wellness programmes.

– Assisting with diversity and inclusion initiatives.

– Coordinating and scheduling employee training and development activities.

– Compiling HR reports and workforce information.

– Analysing HR and workforce data to support decision-making.

– Supporting performance management processes, including documentation and follow-ups.

– Responding professionally and confidentially to employee enquiries.

– Escalating complex employee matters to the appropriate HR specialists.

– Ensuring HR activities comply with company policies and relevant employment legislation.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate.
Diploma in Human Resources or an equivalent qualification.
Little to no previous work experience is required.
Some administrative exposure involving Human Resources is considered essential for the programme.
