Overview
Bestmed Medical Scheme is offering a YES for Youth opportunity within its Client Services Department for young South Africans living with disabilities who are looking to gain meaningful workplace experience and exposure to the medical aid industry.
The programme will run from 01 November 2026 to 31 October 2027 and is designed to provide participants with practical experience in a supportive and professional working environment.
Successful candidates will receive comprehensive training on Bestmed’s products and services, helping them develop the knowledge, confidence and communication skills required to engage professionally with medical scheme members over the telephone.
Key Responsibilities and Learning Areas
Participants can expect to gain practical exposure in areas such as:
– Supporting the Client Services Department.
– Learning about Bestmed’s medical scheme products and services.
– Communicating professionally with members over the telephone.
– Developing customer service and member engagement skills.
– Applying product and service knowledge when assisting members.
– Participating in structured onboarding and workplace training.
– Developing confidence in a professional client service environment.
– Gaining practical exposure to the medical aid industry.
– Building workplace skills and experience that may support future career opportunities.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Tertiary education.
- Must currently be unemployed.
- Must be 35 years old or younger.
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Preference will be given to people living with disabilities.
