Overview
Makoro Brick & Tile Plant is seeking experienced Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics to maintain and overhaul the company fleet of heavy-duty machinery and trucks. This role is ideal for qualified diesel mechanics with strong knowledge of hydraulics, gearboxes, and mining/manufacturing equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and engine overhauls
- Diagnose hydraulic, gearbox and pneumatic faults
- Coordinate maintenance schedules with production teams
- Conduct inspections and complete maintenance checklists
- Coach junior staff on preventative maintenance
- Manage spare parts ordering and breakdown repairs
- Process vehicle insurance claims
- Maintain safe and efficient workshop operations
Minimum Requirements
- Cambridge O’Level Certificate
- National Trade Certificate (NTC3) / N1 in Motor Mechanics
- Valid Driver’s License
- Minimum 10 years’ experience as Diesel Fitter/Foreman in manufacturing or mining
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, gearboxes and heavy-duty diesel engines
