Overview

Dis-Chem Pharmacies and The Local Choice Pharmacy are seeking Casual Frontshop Assistants to support daily retail operations. The role involves maintaining merchandising standards, assisting customers, and ensuring smooth point-of-sale operations in line with company procedures.


Key Responsibilities

– Ensure shelves are fully stocked and products are neatly displayed

– Monitor expiry dates and rotate stock using FIFO principles

– Assist customers with product queries and provide excellent service

– Process transactions including cash, cards, and other payment methods

– Handle returns, exchanges, and customer queries professionally

– Maintain a clean, organised store and storeroom

– Assist with stock counts, stocktaking, and inventory control

– Report low, damaged, or out-of-stock items to management

– Support loading and offloading of stock when required

– Follow company policies, procedures, and health & safety standards

– Build positive relationships with customers and team members


Requirements & Skills

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • 0–6 months retail experience
  • Basic numeracy and communication skills

Advantageous:

  • 1 year retail experience
  • Retail Business Management qualification

  • Time management and reliability

Special Conditions

  • Must be willing to work retail hours (including weekends and holidays)
  • Must be a South African citizen
