Overview
Thorburn Security Solutions is recruiting Grade C Security Officers to join their professional team across multiple sites in Gauteng. Successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment across various industries including retail, corporate, logistics, and residential estates.
Key Responsibilities
Protection & Safety
– Safeguard employees, visitors, assets, and property
– Ensure overall site safety and security
Access Control
– Monitor and control entry and exit points
– Manage visitor access and direct traffic when required
Patrolling & Monitoring
– Conduct regular patrols of buildings and surrounding areas
– Monitor CCTV systems, alarms, and other security equipment
Incident Response
– Respond quickly to emergencies, alarms, and suspicious activities
– Report incidents accurately and complete required documentation
Compliance & Procedures
- Enforce company policies and security procedures
- Support emergency protocols such as evacuations and safety drills
Equipment Management
- Ensure all security equipment is functional and properly maintained
- Report faults or issues immediately
Customer Service
- Maintain a professional image at all times
- Interact respectfully with staff, clients, and visitors
Risk Awareness
- Identify and report potential risks, threats, or suspicious behaviour
Requirements & Skills
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Valid PSIRA Certificate (Minimum Grade C)
- Previous security experience
- Knowledge of CCTV, alarm systems, and access control
- Strong communication and report writing skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle conflict professionally
- Physically fit and able to conduct patrols
Advantageous:
- Valid driver’s licence
- Firearm competency for business purposes
