Overview
A leading transport operation is recruiting Transport Workshop Assistants (X2 Positions) to support fleet maintenance and workshop activities in East London. This role is ideal for individuals with basic mechanical knowledge who are eager to ensure the smooth running of vehicles and minimise breakdowns.
Key Responsibilities
– Conduct daily vehicle inspections and complete required checklists
– Check mirrors, lights, and other vehicle components and report defects
– Assist with tyre repairs, punctures, and replacements
– Deliver vehicles for servicing and collect serviced trucks
– Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workshop area
– Support fleet maintenance activities to ensure operational efficiency
– Ensure compliance with health and safety standards
Requirements & Skills
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification
- Valid Code 10 driver’s license with PrDP
- 1–2 years basic workshop or mechanical experience
- Good problem-solving and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Team player with ability to take initiative
- Flexible and willing to work shifts
